This is my longest entry to date. I have never typed this long de entry de. If halfway reading sian diao then split up the entry to read hors. Comment and tag if necessary=). Hope you don't find it boring O.o
------Emily------ Not bribe lah, sort of threaten de...by right he could not sae that I MUST take c literature if I want to take higher mother tongue. But he HOD of mother tongue so no choice lor. And yes, I am 1.79 metres tall =). Wanna grow tall?? Follow my way- Eat more, sleep more, work less=). I don't play basketball de so...yah -_-
----St. Johns camp----
First Day: Woke up several times in the morning cos scared oversleep lol. Later whole corp (can say so) waited at Yishun for Amos. I called him so many times and he dint answer. Whats the use of handphone if u don't want to receive or make calls?? Lol. In the end, we were late and stood in the parade square unmovingly for like 1hour?! I was the one holding the group flag. They collected all our valuables so we would not lose them. The sir so bo liao and kept samula-ing us.
Oh ya, by the way the members of our group( called dexterous) and belongs to the same corp as me are Regina and Shi Qin. The other group members are Bernard, Hwee Shien, Cheng Jun, Sin Yee, Wei Qiang, Shanice and Ying Hui.There are two other members from Dunearn but one went back to Indonesia to stay for whole term while the other is not very active in St Johns. No offence people.
The food was like worse than the food in the childcare centre when I was primary school. Makes me feel guilty becos I was very tiaoti when I was back home. Lol. Even though the food is so-so (or less), it is still fit for humans to eat. I thought I will turn into a vegetarian: the food is so vegetarian style de. The officers quite nice lah. They gave bonus food such as ice cream balls. Very de nice(considering the fact that our food are *erhmm*you know..) One would kill for more.
We have the night confidence training at night(duhs). The activity more fun than the activity in the afternoon, considering we do not have the knowledge for first aid yet. There were four stations: Suicide, Path of vain(smth like that), Haunted Land and Wall crawler(smth like that).
The Suicide station, the game goes like this: one of ur grp members stand on a wall. The others pair up and face each other and grip each other arms tightly. The "suicider" is supposed to trust his/her teammates and fall down backwards. The first one to demonstrate is of course non other than ME!!! The group members were like "what??!!" and I think the first thing that came to their minds were "Wah si liao lah. Surely beh suicider ya si de." In the end, they caught me but put me quite unstabily on the ground so I fell over Ying Hui XD.
The Wall crawling thingy quite fun. the game goes like this: each person is supposed to stand on the top of the wall and walk without falling down. It is to test ur sense of balance and trust and bonding among teammates. Trust is because we have to stand beside under him/her to catch him/her should she falls. Bonding is to cheer ur fellow teammates on to finish walking the path. We lost on the bonding side because the walkers wannted to concentrate and complained that the cheers made them blur diao.Lol.
Next is the Haunted Land. We are supposed to blindfold ourselves, crawl into a dark room and encounter certain obstacles and things. I blindfolded myself with a shirt but made use of the sleevehole to check out what they are doing *cackles*. Lol. They used metal spoons to put flour and throw onto our shirts. The officers used water and splashed at us from all directions. Our group instructors used water and splashed into our faces as we crawled under the specially placed chairs and desks. Madm Eileen used a metal spoon to pour flour de. When I saw that she was going to pour the flour on me, I moved extra quick and the person behind me had a headful of flour=). Rofl. I The only bad thing about the night confidence training is that they should have planned longer for it=).
Second Day: We had topo and walked like 11 kilometres from MacRitchie reservoir to Bukit Timah Hill visitor centre. The trail very challenging and some of the terrains were quite muddy so my shoes and socks were soaked in mud when we went back. Gross I know Xp. We had a mini triage where we had to transport four casualties down to the luchsite. I very hungry so very irritated, then just threw one casualty( Darius from group Challenger) on my back and carried him down swiftly=). The other one was like a princess. She was transported by six to eight people down. I saw them carrying her like that and tio stunned. I was like "just put her down let me carry her and get it done with. I want my lunch."
When we have the changeover of course i/c, Regina tio. Whether it was gd or bad for her, I dunno but i seriously think that being a course i/c help sharpen and hone your skills even more. She very nervous cos when she returned to her position after reporting to duty officer, she marched too far and had to move back to her position. Instead of turning in front and aligning herself, she marched backwards. Sir Ben smiled and said like " wah course i/c can rewind de ah?" Regina dun be so blur in future le!! XD.
We had a triage whereby the building is on fire and will collapse in 10 minutes. Regina so suay, have to control the whole situation because very chaotic. We were being split into Ambulance and Nursing cadets. Cheng Jun volunteered himself to be the group i/c of the Ambulance cadets!!! Its like, he did not even know how to command a small group properly and he volunteered himself to be the leader especially in an emergency. In short, the whole ambulance don't understand what he shouting and he was jumping up and down in front of us shrieking at us( yes shrieking) to move. Lucky, one of the officers told us to divide into smaller groups and the cohesion and understanding among each other is smoother. I know everyone have their good and bad points but one should not volunteer himself to be the i/c when he has commanding problems. Yah. This is from the view of some Ambulance cadets. They sweared at Cheng Jun and said that he dunno how to say still want to shout at us. I agree =D
Third Day: I was the course i/c after Regina changeover to me. I was like wtf??!! Early in the morning when i woke up, I was thinking who is the unlucky one that would be the course i/c after Regina. I was not very worried because our group already had 3 course i/c s. Quite alot for a group. So when the duty officer said:" Changeover of course i/c. Next course i/c, Lim Wen Yuan Gerald from Group Dexterous." I was shocked by the words that had a smell of death lingering around them. I no choice lor so must be i/c. Be course i/c not as hard as I thought because I have a loud voice so can shout at them=D. woots. Somemore I think the female course i/cs are given a higher standard because they were scolded more times than male course i/cs. Gideon so damn what lor, say I confirmed tio de. Say what if I tio course i/c sure die de. Ehh Gid, I survived the whole course okay? Haix. That time I still laughed at him say I won't be so unlucky tio course i/c de. Quite fun lah be course i/c. Can shout at the course including the Advance and they have to say "Yes I/C!!!" If not happy then can ask them shout again. Shiok=)
There was a triage that afternoon too. Lucky I was the casualty and not the course i/c standing in front and doing the shitty stuff. I was "dead", lying on the floor of the canteen with my legs around one of the railings. The ambulance cadets did not have enough strength to carry me so called for a six-man transport. One of the Advanced member asked me to used some of my strength to help them. Others keep poking me tell me use some of my weight to carry myself. Alicia (from our corp) carried my head but released it when she stood up. My head banged on the floor damn hurtful sia! Lucky the height from the floor not so far, so hurt for a while, not hard enuf to kill me=). In the end, left me at the entrance of the canteen because the canteen going to "collapse". Quite fun lah, see six people struggling under my torturous weight=D. I will go on diet de.
Campfire The campfire performance quite fun. Evryone de morale and spirit quite high and danced and shouted to the cheers. The officers oso very high. They all gathered and do the leg dance while we did 'The Wave'. Our seniors were also there with us watching the campfire celebration. I didn't know that males acting as females could be as chio too. Lol.
After the campfire, Dexterous was in for a scolding. The group flag pole was gone. To make matters worse which we did not know it was severe, we used any pole we found to substitute the lost flag pole. Sir Jing Xing talked to us, solved the problem with us and we got back the "lost" flag pole.
Fourth Day(Last Day) Did classroom arranging and area cleaning. Had our telematches and was soaked to the skin in the last game. We had to pass some obstacles without stepping on the bomb bags and had to crawl under benches. Thats not the worst part. the worst is that the floor is full of puddles of soapy water. If one managed to be dry, the motivator would pour mugs of soapy water down your shirt. After that, we all were allowed to throw Sir Ben with water balloons and water. See the whole course run after him with water balloons and water bottles very hilarious!! Had our camp debrief and merit awards to groups. The awards were quite special. There is detergent, coffee packets, toilet paper rolls, rice, bread and even rafia strings! Lol. Left QSS finally and took a taxi to Yishun with Huili,Shi Qin and Amos.
There were other stuff which I did not mention such as Sir Ben using moisturiser, or Cheng Jun peed on himself. No pictures were taken because our handphones were kept. Till then!!
